5 Miami Hot Spots Where You Can Eat, Drink, Party & Relax in 2017

Miami has practically everything you could want right at your fingertips: its metropolitan area is one of America's top 10 most populous and the city is known as one of the cleanest in the nation.

As well as offering tropical weather, golden beaches and stunning clear water, Miami is the place to party, relax and rejuvenate. If you live in this beautiful city, you have a duty to yourself to see everything it has to offer which is why we’re going to show you its best hot spots.

1. Barley, an American Brasserie

Barley has changed locations a couple of times in the last few years. It is now situated at Downtown Dadeland where it opened its doors on September 27, 2016. The restaurant specializes in rustic American food tinged with Asian and Latin influences.

Headed by famed chef Jorgie Ramos, Barley caters to all palates whether you want something weird and wonderful like charred octopus or more familiar fare like mac and cheese. You can quench your thirst with delicious cocktails and wine or browse through Barley’s outstanding craft beer selection.

2. The Anderson

Since it rarely goes below 60 degrees in Miami and is almost always above 90 in summer, you want a chic bar with A/C that prevents you from turning into a puddle of water! The Anderson at 79th St. ticks all the boxes.

It describes itself as “a neighborhood bar with great food, cocktails, music and vibes” and it isn’t exaggerating. The Anderson has taken the place of the Magnum Lounge, which closed in October 2015. It combines nostalgia and the contemporary with a sleek modern design that has an 80’s feel. For example, the bar has a vintage jukebox filled with 80’s classics and a mini Pac-Man game.

You can enjoy retro cocktails, beer and a shot specials, and a food menu laden with light bites and adventurous cuisine. There is also an outdoor bar that specializes in rum-forward cocktails. The Anderson offers a “community” feel and is a great hangout both for long-term Miami residents and those new to the city.

3. STORY Nightclub

While LIV is unquestionably one of the best places to dance in Miami (if not the United States), STORY has a larger dance floor and offers a unique high-energy experience. It was created by MMG, the same company behind LIV, and its concert-style lighting and Infinite Hybrid Sound System guarantee a night to remember.

The stylish décor ensures STORY gives off a sophisticated feel and it has the best DJs in Miami, blasting out tunes on a nightly basis. If you’re feeling extravagant, pre-book one of STORY’s 60 VIP tables and enjoy the celebrity experience.

4. Biltmore Hotel Golf Course

Donald Ross designed the hotel’s 18-hole golf course in 1925. It is a par 71, 6,800-yard championship course and its classic design is a firm favorite among golf lovers across South Florida.

Newcomers might be fooled by the lack of danger off the tee only to find all sorts of traps surrounding the greens. Its final two holes are a real challenge as both are tough par 5s. The 17th hole is the course’s #1 handicap hole and will punish players who stray off the tee. As well as being a truly enjoyable golfing experience, a round at the Biltmore course brings you on a trip through golfing history.

5. Mandarin Oriental Spa

You don’t have to wait until Miami Spa Month (July 1 –August 31) to enjoy a treat. The city features dozens of great spas, but the Mandarin Oriental is unquestionably one of the most luxurious. There are 11 spa treatment rooms, each of which has a private shower.

Other features include six spa suites with views of Biscayne Bay, an exclusive beauty treatment suite, manicure and pedicure facilities, sauna and steam rooms, and yoga classes. You should visit the Mandarin and treat yourself to a day of unbridled pampering.

Begin with a full steam or sauna before allowing your spa therapist to work his or her magic. Once you have enjoyed this relaxing experience, make your way to the hotel bar for a drink or indulge in the Mandarin Oriental’s excellent cuisine.
You could plan your day around the Miami hot spots mentioned above. Begin with a spa treatment and have a round of golf before heading to the Barley for dinner. Slow things down with a drink at The Anderson before letting your hair down at the STORY nightclub. On second thoughts, you might want to save the spa treatment for the following day!
